Lily is a recreation of a Nicholas Bramble original, re-created by Carl Armstrong for the Carmel Doll Shop.

I created and will be teaching a workshop for this ensemble in October in Houston for the Bay Area International Doll Convention.

My first foray into the 1890's, Lily is also the first artist doll I have costumed. The challenge was to create an ensemble that doesn't look like a “doll” costume, but a lady's garment in miniature.

My inspiration was the work of the English-born master couturier, Charles Frederick Worth. Hopefully this captures his spirit.

I had been sewing for myself for years but never thought of sewing for others. A few years ago I was asked by the fabulous Rachel Hoffman to make some hats for her VDC boutique. That led to a commission for a matching cape.

I look back on this project and am grateful to the client who thought enough of my skills to ask me to sew something custom for her. It meant a lot to me and still does.

Everything I sew for my clients is made with love.
